Using VNC with a Macintosh:
System Requirements:
Mac OS 8.1 or later
Carbon Lib 1.1 or later
Installation Steps:
Download VNCThing
. It is a SIT BIN file (if downloading with Internet Explorer and you
have StuffIt Expander, it will automagically extract into a directory on
your desktop after downloading). If not, drag the file onto the StuffIt Expander
icon and it will extract into a folder. This folder will be called VNCThing.
Open the folder, and click on VNCThing as shown in this image:
After the program starts you will be presented with a popup window asking
for the address and password of a VNC server:
The address for the BIODNA VNC server is biodna.uthscsa.edu. The password
will not be released on this page. Please contact Jeremy Mann at the Bioinformatics
Core Facility @ 567-2672 for the password.
Upon successfully entry of the password, you will now see a Windows 2000
login window. Use your BIODNA account to login to this system. Here is a
screenshot of the login window:
