Word Wide Web and Email Services

The BCF provides e-mail and WWW services for its users. If you would like to have a webmail-enabled e-mail or www server account, please apply for the biochemistry e-mail/www server. This machine provides secure e-mail and www services using secure shell and secure copy software. You can obtain an account on this server by filling out an application form. An insecure server for web access is also available, which also provides telnet and ftp access. You can apply for an account on the insecure server here.

In addition to e-mail and www service, we provide listserver mailing lists. If you need a private listserver mailing list for your own purposes, please inquire with Dr. Borries Demeler. The following mailing lists are publicly available for UTHSCSA faculty, students and staff:

UltraScan (Mailing list for the UltraScan AUC data analysis software)
Genomics (Mailing list for users of the Bioinformatics Genomics software such as VectorNTI, LaserGene, and Oligo. This mailing list is set up to provide a support forum for users of these software packages and to provide a means for informing genomics software users of upgrades etc)
Beowulf-Users (Mailing list for the users of the Beowulf Linux Supercomputing cluster)
X-users (Mailing list for the Bioinformatics X-application server)
Biochem-users (Mailing list for users of the Biochemistry departmental E-mail and webpage server)
